1、E-learning最早提出时还是”通过电脑系统学习“的意思。后来互联网普及了。几乎成了通过互联网学习的专用词。但现在世界上还有许多是通过闭路电脑系统来学习的机构，如美国有个非常大的连锁学习机构叫Score。是通过其各分部内一个很大的电脑系统来让孩子用电脑软件来学习。

Courses can be tailored to specific needs and asynchronous learning is possible. Where learning occurs exclusively online, this is called online education. When learning is distributed to mobile devices such as cell phones or PDAs, it is called M-learning.
